I work for a major UK cancer charity - all postings are made in a personal capacity; I am therefore not specifying the charity.

My background is that I initially trained as a biomedical scientist specialising in haematology - I have allowed my state registration to lapse so I must make clear that I am not representing myself as entitled to use the designation biomedical scientist (a protected professional title).

I have a Master of Science degree in Clinical Oncology, awarded by the Institute of Cancer Research at Birmingham University.

I am an active member of the British Society for Haematology, the European Haematology Association and the American Society of Hematology.
