In 1996 Iheanyi Ngwaba created the musical entity Blackliquid. It was designed to represent this multifaceted composer's love of many genres in music. His goal, was to create the most diverse catalog of dance music ranging from downtempo trip hop to funky house and everything in between. Louise Barron of Tank Management had faith in him and his then music partner Tomba aka John Ces production and performance abilities. After a private performance in a rehearsal studio Tank took on the artists. The story doesn't start there however. It actually begins in 1983 with Iheanyi joining a three piece rhythm & blues band Riff & The Four Four formerly known as The Green Bullets. He was the drummer and backing vocalist to his neighborhood friends, Andy Williams (Lead vocalist, lead guitarist) and Tony Lock (bassist). Their first gig was at a pub in Tooting broadway. They went on to do two years on the London circuit and opened for big blues bands such as Red Beans & Rice at the renowned Kings Head in Fulham. In 1985 whilst at a small nightclub in Peckham known as Kisses, he witnessed, up close, the emence skill and talent of the world famous Grand master Flash on the 'wheels of steel'. Seeing him raise the roof on a packed nightclub by using two copies of the massive club hit 'I Found Lovin' by the Fatback Band left him speechless and inspired to add Disc Jockey to his musical bow.
