Bin Li is a Doctor of Law from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, Professor at the School of Law of Beijing Normal University, and of the Harbin Institute of Technology (from 2005 to 2011)http://law.hit.edu.cn/lb/#. His doctoral thesis deals with the protection of property rights in China. Graduated in Master of International Law at Nankai University (Tianjin, China), Bin Li teaches in the field of international law, including in particular the law of human rights, international economic law, etc.. Further research around such topics as the transformation of Chinese law on private property, the interactions between Chinese law and international law.

Bin Li has conducted theoretical and empirical comparison of legal cultures, working with colleagues from different European countries and America. Bin Li was a Visiting Scholar of the Chair of Comparative Legal Studies and Internationalization of Law at the College de France (2008-2009)http://www.college-de-france.fr/site/mireille-delmas-marty/equipe.htm, he is currently an associate researcher at the Institute for Advanced Studies on Justice http://www.ihej.org/and the Centre for Study and Research in International Law at the University Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne(http://cerdin.univ-paris1.fr/)

From October 2011 to June 2012, Bin Li is a research fellow (Région Pays de la Loire Chair)of the Institute for Advanced Study of Nantes, France (IAS, Nantes http://www.iea-nantes.fr/). His research project is "The contribution of Chinese law to the synergy between human rights and trade law in the context of the internationalization of law: research under the protection of property rights".

Bin Li is now the director of Chinese Groupe for the Sino-Latin American research initiative on energy transition endorsed by the Institute for Advanced Study of Nantes,"THE LITHIUM PROJECT: Providing a New Framework to the Energy Policy of China and the Southern Common Market".
