Sharran Kumar or Sharang as his real name is, an actor in Tamil Movies. He was born in Kochi, Kerala but moved to Chennai in his early years. He did his schooling in MGR Aadarsh School and aborted graduation from DG Vaishnav College. He has a younger sister Falguni , who is into event management. His mother is a Senior HR professional . Sharran started his career with modeling. He appeared for around 100 TV commercials/ print ads and other media. On some reference he went to give audition to the office of Duet Movies as they were planning to start the remake of Happy Days , a very big hit in Telugu. There was a huge competition and around 2500 aspiring actors were auditioned. He was selected to play the role of introvert Sankar. Movie was named as Inidhu Inidhu and it was an average hit. His dual role in the movie garnered enough appreciation and a leading Tamil daily wrote: what big actors can do in their movies, Sharran has done that with ease. This movie was made to cater the taste of B and C centers and did very well in those places. It was released by Merit Media. Produced and Directed by M.Ganesan , music by Srikanth Deva and songs were sung by Shankar Mahadevan and Sherya Ghosal.

Meanwhile he has another big banner release film called Uyirukku Uyiraga produced by Motherland Films and Vendhar movies.

Sharran's CSK-Charles Shafiq ,Karthika released in March 2015 and gave him another hit after Inidhu Inidhu. This movie was critically acclaimed and received widespread appreciation.A thriller, made with limited budget , created its own space in movie market with its natural acting, tight direction and sleek photography. Sharran is a part of reputed Selvaraghan group and playing second lead in Maalai Nerathu Mayakam, directed by Mrs.Geethanjali Selvaraghan.

Sharran plays cricket as well and is a member of Celebrity Cricket League , has recently been in the news for his outstanding performance in CCL match , Celebrity Cricket League is played between different film industries of India. Sharran played a powerful match winning knock in his first match against Mumbai Hero's team and was honored with the Man of the match .
