Beto Pimentel works as a Physics High School teacher since 1992. His background includes a M. Sc. in Optics. He is currently pursuing a Ph. D. in the History of Science, running a thesis project on the development of interferometers in the XIXth century and its relation to the evolution of ideas and technology in modern Physics.

He lives with his wife Maira and his son Renato in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
