Background
[edit]I have a master's degree in maths (thesis title: "Models of Groups over the Field with One Element", supervised by Dr. Corneliu Hoffman). I have also studied chemistry and physics up to 'A' level. My pronouns are he/him.
This account is a continuation of the now-inactive account Donutmug, as I decided it would be better to edit under my real name.
Fun facts about me
[edit]- I have appeared on University Challenge, representing the University of Birmingham in the 49th series of the programme.
- It is thought that my family name comes from the village of Sculthorpe in Norfolk.
- I am an honourary citizen of the micronation of Adammia.
Interests
[edit]My main interest is in mathematics, specifically:
My significant edits will probably be restricted to the above areas, as those are my areas of specialism. However, I am also interested (at an amateur level) in a variety of subjects, including but not limited to:
- Japanese history (particularly the bakumatsu and Meiji restoration)
- Early medieval European history (particularly involving Cnut the Great and Leif Eriksson)
- physics (in particular quantum mechanics and string theory)
- linguistics
