Is Gojo Satoru alive? not exactly. He is cut in half by the king of curses, Ryomen Sukuna, and then comes back to life when his student, Yuta Okkhotsu comes into his body. After the fight, The author forgets that he even wrote, when Yuta comes into a dead body, the body comes back to life. Therefore Gojo Is alive. For a while, Yuta stays in Gojo's body and fights Sukuna, and The king of curses is dumbfounded. As such, while Gojo has technically returned, he is quite literally a ghost of himself, with Yuta only controlling his body like a puppet. With Yuta's cursed technique, he can copy other techniques as well. Therefore, He can use Lapse Blue, Reversal Red, and even Gojo's special moves, like domain expansion, and hollow purple. That basiacally makes Yuta the strongest jujutsu sorcerer! (while Gojo is gone, anyway) It looks like Gojo is in control, but while Yuta is in his body, he has stitches on his forehead, like his best friend Geto Suguru!
