Samuel Salcedo (born 1975) is a Spanish sculptor from Barcelona, known for his works that often feature treatments of the human head and its facial expressions, executed in a variety of media.[1] Trained at the University of Barcelona's Faculty of Fine Arts and Manchester Metropolitan University's Department of Fine Arts, he initially worked more in painting in oils and spray paint, but he has shifted in recent years predominantly into sculpture.[2] His works feature characters that provoke mixed emotional reactions, from repugnance to compassion, suffering from consumerism and mediocrity, and acting as a metaphor for the human condition.[3]
