Typhoon Cimaron (international designation: 0619, JTWC designation: 22W, designated Typhoon Paeng by PAGASA and sometimes called Super Typhoon Cimaron) was the most intense tropical cyclone to make landfall Philippines in the 2006 Pacific typhoon season. Cimaron was the nineteenth tropical storm and the twelfth typhoon of the 2006 season. Cimaron formed as a tropical disturbance on October 26 east of the Philippines and rapidly intensify to an intense typhoon before making landfall on east coast of the Philippine island of Luzon during its peak intensity, with maximum 1-min sustained winds of 260 km/h, on October 29. Upon crossing the island on October 31, Cimaron intensified again over the South China Sea, reaching a secundary peak intensity with 1-min maximum sustained winds of 205 km/h before weaking again due heavy wind shear. Cimaron completely dissipated on November 6.
