Decembeard is a registered trade mark of both Beating Bowel Cancer and Bowel Cancer UK, co-owned by both charities for the benefit of all those affected by bowel cancer.
Decembeard was established in the UK in 2011 after Chris Evans announced on twitter that he was going to take part in Decembeard as he’d missed Movember. Alison Selfe immediately tweeted him back asking him to do it for Beating Bowel Cancer, as she knew his father had died of the disease.
In June 2014, two UK bowel cancer charities, Beating Bowel Cancer and Bowel Cancer UK, have jointly registered Decembeard as a trade mark.[1]
In 2014, Decembeard expanded to other countries and is now officially represented in Canada, Ireland and Australia.
