JetBrains is a software development company with offices in Prague, Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Boston and Munich[2].
JetBrains was founded in 2000 as a private company, by Sergey Dmitriev, Eugene Belyaev and Valentin Kipiatkov[2].
Products
[edit]JetBrains makes award-winning[3][4] software for software developers[5] and their software is largely designed to improve developer productivity. They have released a number of software products[6][7] including:
- AppCode, an Objective-C IDE
- IntelliJ IDEA, a Java IDE
- Meta Programming System
- PyCharm, a Python IDE
- PhpStorm, a PHP IDE[8]
- ReSharper, a refactoring and productivity plugin for Microsoft Visual Studio
- dotTrace, a performance and memory profiler
- dotCover, a .NET unit test runner and code coverage tool
- dotPeek, a free .NET decompiler
- RubyMine, a Ruby IDE
- TeamCity, a continuous integration product
- WebStorm, a JavaScript IDE
In July 2011, the company announced it was developing a new programming language for the JVM, named Kotlin (first preview was released in January 2012).[9]
