[edit]About me
[edit]My hobbies include gaming, computer building, and coding. I haven't done a lot of coding but it is something I am interested in. Over the last year the number of people building their own computers has greatly increased, possibly due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [1]

Article Evaluation
[edit]In my most recent science lab, I was trying to find some information about the geological features around the diverging site of the Somalian and Indian plates. In my research, I found a map that labeled a ridge feature in the ocean, and it was named Carlsberg Ridge. While this article did give enough information about the site, I thought It could be improved. It gave a general statement and topographical map of the region, however, it was lacking in studies and information about the area in general except for location. I visited the Carlsberg Ridge article on Wikipedia and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: its lack of references to studies, marine life, and articles with more information.
References to Studies
[edit]Through my further research and study outside of Wikipedia on the Carlsberg Ridge, I found multiple studies and articles about different things around the ridge. Almost none of these studies were link or referenced in the article. I believe those studies would be beneficial to people looking for information about this area, especially because the information is hard to find.
Marine Life
[edit]The second flaw I found with this article was its lack of references to life in the area. Being on a divergent plate boundary, this area has vents and other features, making it one of the only places they are able to house a diverse ecosystem of marine life and microbes. Leaving this out diminishes a key piece of information on the impact of the area on marine life.
Citations and Other Information
[edit]There are some Wikipedia articles about the plates that form it, and divergent plate boundaries, and vents that it simply fails to acknowledge at all. These things are key to its formation and impact. This information could be helpful for people trying to understand or find information when browsing this article. Without the links, the article isn't being useful, to its fullest potential.
Summary
[edit]This article had some useful information, but it was lacking much information that would have benefited it. Information including studies, marine life, and links to other geographical features was simply not preset when they could have and should have been. With these additions, this article would become more helpful and useful.
