User:Based.data/Beca de tuna
The tuna beca is a piece of clothing of great importance as part of a tuna suit, always combined with a capa (tuna cape).
Description
[edit]It is the most important and most symbolically charged element of the suit. It is a band worn over the chest and shoulders on top of the jacket. The material typically used for its confection is colored felt, cloth or silk, and it is embroidered with the coat of arms of the university, faculty, or school to which the tuna is attached.
Typically, a beca is only worn by members baptized as veterans, or distinguished as "honorable tunos". Exceptionally, two tunas that do not wear this piece of clothing exist, and they are distinguished by their coat of arms being directly embroidered on the suit on the chest. These are the Tuna Compostelana (which wears the Cross of Santiago) and the Tuna del Distrito de Grana (which wears the crest of the University of Granada, which is the same as the coat of arms of Carlos V).
Usually, the becas worn by tunas representing a university, undergraduate faculties, or higher engineering schools are of a single color. Double-colored becas correspond to graduate studies or technical engineering faculties.
Colors

- red: corresponds to the faculty of Law

- yellow: corresponds to the study of Medicine
- light blue: corresponds to studies of the Humanities (Philosophy and Literature) and to Computer Science
- cobalt blue and purple: Sciences and Architecture
