Turpisuus The turpisuus is an animal well known for its very special look. The turpisuus is a mammal. The name of the animal is based on his looks. The name of this animal consists out of the word shark in Latin and the word horse in Latin. Turpis and equus make turpisuus.

Anatomy The Turpisuus has a very interesting anatomy. The turpisuus has a shark head, however no gills can be found on its head. It has lungs, and they are very big. The lungs can hold air for around 7,5 minutes. So they can stay underwater for a very long time. It has a normal bone structure. It has no fish bones, it has mammal bones. The legs of a horse cannot provide speed underwater so to hunt is uses its tail to propellor forward. The animal can reach up to 45 kilometers an hour underwater and about 20 kilometers an hour on land.

Physiology This animal looks like a shark with horse legs and a horsetail. This animal is from the inside very different then you might expect. They don’t have stomachs but they do have very long intestines. They are about 2 meters tall.

Life This expected age of this animal is 30 years. This animal doesn’t like to have people on their backs, but it really likes to be pet.

Cycle 11 months is how long a pregnancy lasts. In the first 2 months the legs grow to about the size they will get at their birth. After 5 months the fetus already starts to look like how the animal will look.

Diet This animal cannot eat grass because of the shark head. This animal is a predator and eats fish and deer’s. Because of the big lungs the shark can stay under water for 7 and a half minute. The droppings of this animal is the same as humans droppings because of they have almost the same diet.
