Occasional Wikipedia Gadfly
[edit]

I enjoy reading the Wikipedia entries from Chevrolet Impala to the Oakland Athletics to... well hell, I created the House of Love entry. Only about one line of my original text is still there, after six years, but the basic structure of the piece is entirely intact. When I read an entry and I feel like it might benefit from some change I will go ahead and change it, but only if I know with certainty what I am intending to change. Like, Pumpsie Green was on the field opening day of 1959, the first african-american ever to don the Red Socks professionally, I know this is a fact, and, now that I think about it, I know how I know. It is cited in the book "Get That Nigger Off the Field", by Art Rust Jr. The Bosox were the last team to integrate, and Mr. Rust suggests that, for whatever reason they were the last team, the twelve year delay between the Dodgers hiring Jackie Robinson and the Red Sox hiring Pumpsie was the undoing of their baseball success for twenty years. Same thing happened to the Yankees, really. They were late to the the AA talent party, and the team suffered.

Collaborator, Renovator, Innovator?
[edit]

Just trying to collaborate with all of the enormous minds on the renovation of all these entries, and when necessary innovating a new entry.
