Matthias Loibner (1969) is an Austrian Hurdy Gurdy player and composer. He won the 1st prize at the "Concours des vielles et cornemuses" in St. Chartier, 1994, and is the co-author of a hurdy gurdy method with Riccardo Delfino. He also plays the Guitar, Trombone and Piano.[1]
Biography
[edit]Loibner studied classical composition, jazz composition and conducting at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, before discovering the Hurdy gurdy.
In YEAR, Loibner arranged Winterreise for hurdy gurdy and voice, and has since recorded and performed the cycle with vocalist Natasa Mirkovic. [2]
