UBC Okanagan Student Union (SUO)
[edit]The Student Union of UBC Okanagan (The SUO) is a union that aims to support and represent the student population of (University of British Columbia Okanagan in Kelowna, British Columbia). They are run by the SUO staff and the elected student board to provide various student services and events.
Leadership
[edit]The SUO board of Directors and Student Representatives are students who have been elected by the student population in the General Election.
The General Election is held annually in February or March. The process requires nominations, campaigning, and polling. To be nominated, a candidate must have 15 UBCO students sign their nomination form. They will then campaign using various forms of media to maximize their outreach to the student population. Once the campaign period has come to an end, voting takes place and the ballots are counted to elect the new members.

Student services
[edit]The UBCO SUO offers students many services across campus. These services are tailored to the needs of the student body through elections and other means.
Health & Dental
[edit]The UBCO SUO is a partner of StudentCare, and organization which provides students with extended health and dental coverage. The plan is designed to deliver health services that are typically not covered by basic medical services plans for BC residents.
U-Pass
The UBCO SUO provides students with a universal bus pass (U-PASS), via a partnership with BC Transit. U-PASS offers students a means of transport that is valid throughout the Central Okanagan.
Resource Groups
The UBCO student union is connected to several resource groups that are located on campus. These resource groups include the Indigenous Peoples Collective, the Pride Resource Centre, the Peer Support Network, the Sex Positivity Centre, and the Women’s Resource Centre.
The UNC

Paper Supply and Co. is an on-campus full-service print shop. They offer colour as well as black and white printing, lamination, binding, large format printing, and much more. They are located in UNC 103. They also have a bookstore where textbooks and materials can be purchased.
When students are looking for aid with anything regarding money or banking they can come to RBC. Here they can be assisted with student loans, bank transactions, opening credit cards
Food Services
The Well is considered the favourite student pub supplying burgers, beers, monthly trivia nights, club events, and more.
Koi Sushi is the best place for students to enjoy freshly made sushi while also being open 7 days a week.
Fusion Express is an amazing place to eat Indian food when students are looking for quality based on price.
Events
[edit]The UBCO SUO organizes several events throughout the academic year. Many events are held on an annual basis, such as FROSH which is a music festival that takes place every September. Cookie decorating events, beer gardens, and social expo’s are also interspersed throughout the academic year offering students a chance to meet new people and have fun at the university.
