BJohnsonGSU is the user name for a college freshman who would rather not give her full name due to the high rates of idenity theft. She attends Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA. Go Eagles! She's from a literally small town of Alma, GA, which is two hours south of Statesboro, GA and yes you are still in Georgia if you go south of Statesboro, GA. While at college she plans to meet new people, learn new things, and make the most out of life. The main thing this use is focused on is keeping her GPA above a 3.0 in order receive the HOPE Scholarship(Georgia scholarship that pays for college tuition and gives an allowance for books). Her major is Biology, but she isn't sure if that major is for her anymore or not.

Me+Technology=?

She wouldn't say that she is a genius with technology nor would she that she is ignorant with technology either. She likes to think of herself myself with a common knowledge of technology. Technology is a basic part of her everyday life from cellphones(Droids are the best), computers, Ipods, GPS, to television. Technology makes life easier, even though her grandmother would have to disagree with her on that one. She would much rather type an email or send a text message than do things the old fashioned way through the mail. The only thingy she dislikes about computer technology is how long it can take to get it fixed sometimes. She doesnt't have any extraordinary skills that would be useful to the internet community. There are programs that she has a basic understanding of how they work and operate. She can us Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and etc.

Wikipedia To Me

She uses Wikipedia from time to time to find out basic information. It can be useful, especially when you can not find any information any where else on the web. Through out high school her teachers have always stressed not to use Wikipedia because it was not a reliable source of information. She can see where her previous teachers were right, because anybody can edit Wikipedia. Also, though Wikipeida can be reliable because Wikipedia users inspect the articles to make sure they are reliable and use sources to cite the information. There are always articles that could be over looked though. She thinks that Wikipedia should be okay to right a term paper for college as long as the writer checks all the sources on the Wikipedia article and makes sure they are reliable and correct, but it all just depends on the professor and their instructions.

She thinks Wikipedia would be a better place if people wouldn't be so quickly to judge the articles are when they are uploaded. All the articles are a work in progress. She also wishes that writers could use sources other than 3rd party resources.

American English is my dominant language with an Southern accent to go with it, thanks to my hometown. I have been talking American English since I learned talking was, and writing and reading the language since pre-K. I have a basic high background in Spanish. I plan to expand my Spanish language knowledge while attending Georgia Southern University.
