it has been criticly exclaimed by a critic on Newgrounds who called up the creator to tell him he loved the webcomic and animation. It almost was nominated for a local emmy, but lost. It has recieved a few other awards(i'll try to remember what they were). It has been praised by Youtube Host nick oxford. It had 1,000 fans in the first month even though it was suppsoed to be a secret for some reason. I will post more notable things in the next day or so . please try to recover my file it is notable! It even will have a DVD coming out next Summer(2009).
Overview
[edit]Tommy and All is an American animated internet cartoon. It was created by Brendan Bender in 2007. It revolves around the life of 11 year-old Tommy Fencer. It has been marked as "...the next generation of Flash Internet cartoons for its high quality animation and humorous approach to life. What is even more amazing is that the jokes and the story in each [episode] are better than what you see on TV. Yet, it is a part-time job to the men and women who have a real job but spend some of their leisure time to enertain you and me...", said critic,James Weigle,(who has now joined the project because he likes it so much)of Newgrounds. It would have been nominated for a local Emmy in 2009, but it lost.It was produced by Spenser Stewart, and still is by Cliff Murphy. It has spawned several web comics,short stories, and online games posted onto the site. On March,1,2008, the website's news reported that "...we are aiming to establish a full-length cartoon that you would expect to see on television(most television shows are 22-24 minutes long), and in order to do that we will have to shut down the site for 4 months for major renavation and reconstruction in order to install the most recent Flash player onto the site for better quality. The site will become unacsessable including all tommy and All media on Wednesday,March 26,2008 and will be back online in late June,2008. We apologize for the inconvienience...",a news report from tommyandall.com. The site is off-line currently. The creator and producers are planning the major renavations to be new ground for the show.
History
[edit]While working on a comic strip in September,2007. The creator(Bender) needed the character "Mike" of his comic on a scetch so he could turn it in to a web comic on Newgrounds. He drew an ear that looked more like a nose and turned it into a face.Tommy Fencer. He made a comic that got passed out in Atlanta, and he met up with Stewart and turned it into a web-comic called Tommy and All. It grew more and more popular among his friends and family. It was a secret until December,2007 when Bender met James Weigle, member of Newgrounds and Tech-savvy animator and word got out. It was a secret until the first test animation."Jim's Breakfast". It was a sucess in the area and the (as I like to call them, the "Five Founders, Bender,Weigle,Stewart,Murphy, and West) websitstarted. It was still a secret to most people,but they had 1,000 people as fans by the end of the month acording to their web site.
