Kevin D. Jones is an American author, technology guru and speaker. He has written 3 books, iPad UNIVERSITY,[1] iOS6 REVEALED,[2] and Keynote for iPad (Enhanced eBook).[3]

Early life

Jones was born in Los Angeles, California, United States. His mother Annie (Joseph) Jones, a now retired administrative assistant and dispatcher for Houston Independent School District. His mother was born in Opelousas, Louisiana and is 1 of 11 siblings. His father, Elmore Jones, was a Vietnam Veteran and machine operator also from Louisiana, United States. Kevin is the descendant of Jules Joseph. Jules Joseph was a free African American who migrated to Opelousas Louisiana in the early 1800's. Kevin's family has a strong military background. His great grandfather Jules Joseph was promoted to Colonel in the Union Army in the American Civil War.

Military career

Jones enlisted in the United States Army after high school and served 3 years active duty with the 10th Mountain Division in Ft. Drum New York. He completed Basic Training and Airborne School in Ft. Benning Georgia. After his active duty assignment ended Jones completed the remainder of his commitment with the G Co. 143rd Airborne in Houston, Texas at Ellington Field.
