The West Wing was probably my most wasted effort on Wikipedia yet. The articles had essentially been abandoned. The episode list existed, but not in a particularly great state,[1] somebody had created the season 6 and 7 pages,[2][3] but seasons 1-5 were nowhere to be seen. I set about cleaning up the existing pages,[4][5][6] and created the missing season articles. While doing this I discovered that all 157 episodes had articles so I went through all of them and found that about 130 fail to meet the requirements of WP:GNG, WP:PLOT, WP:TVEP, WP:AVOIDSPLIT and other guidelines. I merged the contents of nine of these to the season articles and then prodded the worst, and redirected the rest. That's when editors, who have shown no interest in improving any of the articles then kicked up a stink. After almost 6 months, all nine articles were restored, despite still failing to meet the requirements of WP:GNG, WP:PLOT, WP:TVEP, WP:AVOIDSPLIT etc, and being completely redundant to the season articles. At 11 subsequent AfDs (two started by another editor) it has become apparent that consensus is to keep alive shitty articles that aren't worthy of the worst fan-wiki, let alone meeting basic guidelines of an encyclopaedia. My standards are higher than that so I've done what everyone else has done, I've abandoned The Worst Wing. Those who seek to keep crap around at all cost can fix the articles, although I doubt that they will. However, I have to acknowledge the efforts of Uzma Gamal, whose efforts[7] turned this into this. 1 down, 129 to go.
