The Starivore hypothesis is an hypothesis by philosopher and systems theorist Clément Vidal that some interacting binaries are evidence of a type of civilization called a starivor. These civilizations are actively consuming solar mass instead of passively consuming it, making this an example of a Type II.[1] [2]
