Quick Visa Canada is a website that promised a supposed way for foreigners to gain refugee status in Canada. The site is currently under investigation by the RCMP.[2] It has been taken offline as of March 11, 2011.
The company promised, for a fee of $2,250 USD (equivalent to $3,047 in 2023), to "help potential immigrants come to Canada as tourists and then assist them in filing a claim for refugee status.[2] "
The website claims its founder as Quebec lawyer Claude Lamoureux. He claims that he is the victim of identity theft.
The owner of the company is listed as Giovanni Germanio, [3] an Italian businessman.[4]
