Folio: The Seattle Athenaeum is a private library established in Seattle in 2014 and located at 314 Marion Street. Folio has a circulating collection and hosts cultural and civic program and also serves as a work space for writers.
Folio: The Athenaeum was founded by David Brewster as a private membership library in 2014 with an initial membership of 300.[1][2] The library initially contained a library of 15,000 books.[2]
There are several other private libraries in the metropolitan cities around the United States including Boston, San Francisco, New York, London, San Diego, Providence, Newport, Cincinnati and Philadelphia.[1]
It is currently located in Seattle at the historic Downtown Y just a few blocks from the Seattle public Library. [1]
