AVer Information Inc. (traditional Chinese: 圓展科技股份有限公司; pinyin: Yuánzhǎn Kējì Gǔfèn Yǒuxiàn Gōngsī) (TWSE: 3669) is a Taiwan-based manufacturer of visualizers (document cameras), interactive pens, surveillance systems and video conferencing systems. Its global headquarters are located in New Taipei City, Taiwan, with multiple branch offices/local representatives across North America, South America, Europe and Asia. AVer is consistently ranked among the top three producers of visualizers (document cameras) globally and has been the number one market-leader in the United States and W. Europe since 2009.[1][2]

As of July 2011, AVer has garnered numerous world-class awards, such as the iF Product Design Award,[3] the Red Dot Design Award,[4][5] the Good Design Award from Japan,[6] the Worlddidac Innovation in Education Award,[7] the COMPUTEX TAIPEI D&I Gold Award,[8] the International CES Best of Innovation Award,[9] and Taiwan Excellence Gold & Silver Awards.[10]

History

AVerMedia Technologies, Inc. was founded in 1990 by Mr. Michael Kuo. In January 2008, AVerMedia Information, Inc. was spun off from AVerMedia Technologies, Inc. as a part of the AVerMedia Group. On July 1, 2011, the company broke off from the AVerMedia Group and announced its new corporate identity as AVer Information Inc. as well as a new corporate logo.

AVer Information Inc.’s global headquarters are located in New Taipei City, Taiwan. The CEO and co-founder of AVer Information is Mr. Michael Kuo; the President of AVer Information is Mr. James Chang; the CFO of AVer Information is Ms. Jenny Kang; and, the Executive Vice President of AVer Information is Mr. Alex Lee.[11]

AVer has 8 branch offices worldwide (the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, China, Japan, Thailand and the United States).[12] The United States branch office, known as AVer Information Inc. USA, is the largest of the eight branch offices, handling AVer’s operations in North America and Brazil. The U.S. office is currently run by AVer Information Inc. USA co-founder and President Arthur Pait.[13]

In addition, to its 8 branch offices, AVer has local sales representatives in Italy, Germany, Russia, Turkey, India, Malaysia, Korea, Mexico and Brazil. The company also claims to have market presence in near 100 different countries.[14]

Product Range

AVer refers to itself as “a major global provider of presentation and education solutions, security surveillance solutions and video conferencing solutions.”[15] AVer’s presentation and education solutions consist of its market-leading AVerVision® line of visualizers (document cameras) and its unique line of interactive pens, formerly known as the AVerPen. The company also develops its own software, includiung A+ Interactive Software (formerly AVer+),[16] a platform for integrating its presentation solutions, and the AVerVision Flash Plug-in for viewing live images from an AVerVision visualizer on an interactive whiteboard.

AVer develops a wide range of surveillance solutions, including Hybrid NVRs/DVRs, IP cameras and software-based solutions, as well as mobile applications for Android, Blackberry and iPhone/iPad users. The company’s surveillance solutions were sold under the name AVerDigi® until mid-2011. In December 2010, AVer entered the video conferencing solutions market with the launch of its H series video conferencing systems, formerly sold under the name AVerComm.
