Career
Early Career: Air Tanzania (1980–1986)
Zainab began her professional career at Air Tanzania in 1980, where she worked in customer service and operations. Over the course of six years, she gained invaluable experience in airline operations, client management, and logistics, preparing her for her entrepreneurial venture.
Founding Zara Tanzania Adventures (1986)
In 1986, Zainab founded Zara Tanzania Adventures, starting with a small travel agency. Under her leadership, the company evolved into one of East Africa’s most renowned tour operators, specializing in:

In addition to running Zara Tanzania Adventures, Zainab expanded her portfolio by founding ZITA Tanzania Wild Camps—a collection of eco-friendly lodges and camps strategically located near major national parks. These properties are managed by her daughter, Leila Ansell, who brings over 20 years of experience in the hospitality sector.
