Franklin "Frank" Gentry (1826-1864), physician, California politician in the 1850's and officer in the Arkansas state forces of the Confederate Army. One of the two doctors whose quarrel began the Ainsworth - Gentry Affair in San Bernardino, California in 1859.
Franklin Gentry was born in Antoine Township, Clark County, Arkansas, (now Antoine, Arkansas part of Pike County), on January 24, 1826, 7th of the 13 children of William Gentry and Jane Narrod Gentry.[1] [2]: 8–121
Franklin Gentry passed away on April 24, 1864.[1] His may be one of the 9 unmarked graves in the Gentry Family Cemetery, Pike County, Arkansas.[3] It is located 1.5 miles south of Antoine off County Road 301. It is on private property, behind a gate, in the woods about 100 meters off the county road.[4]
