Aeroflot Flight 512 was a scheduled passenger flight within the Amman – Beirut – Yerevan – Moscow route, which on June 30, 1973, SU512, operated by a Tupolev Tu-134, crashed as it overran the runway in Amman, killing 9 people; both on the flight (2 crew members) and 7 people on the ground.
It was notably seen to be the 3rd deadliest crash of a Tupolev Tu-134 at the time (1973).
Aircraft
[edit]SU512 was operated by a Tupolev Tu-134A, with the serial number 1351306 and was registered CCCP-65668. It was manufactured in 1971 in the USSR for Aeroflot, which had logged 2822 hours within 2 years of service.
After the crash, the aircraft was written off, as it was entirely destroyed.
Crew
[edit]SU512’s Tu-134 was had the crew of Russian nationalists onboard the flight.[1]
