This word although seems to be made up is very real. It in fact is so real that there is an entire Wikipedia page about it. Now I will begin to discuss the entire history of this word, and how now it has been forgotten about by the educational world and now only survives by the use of true intellectuals. This word originated when Japanese/Mexican explorers discovered South Africa and saw how different it was. They were in such awe that they had to create an entirely new word for the description. Idio- also in idiot, meaning to do in ones own way is the beginning of the word because it describes how South Africa did not confine to social norms and went its own way. Even in the time of exploration where the world was heavy on conformity and fake uniqueness, South Africa was truly a gem to behold. The new explorers consumed the crystals and some gained powers and others died, but that is disputed by historians.
