[edit]About Me
[edit]Some of my hobbies include piano, singing, art, making drinks, those kind of things. I have played piano for roughly 8 years. If I practiced more, I'd be really good but I don't discipline myself enough for consistent practice. I love to sing, it's one of my favorite things. Most of my family has some sort of musical talent, lots include singing. I'm usually always in the mood for an art project.. whether that's coloring or modge podge you name it. Lastly, one thing I love to do is make coffee and different drinks. I have worked at a coffee stand since June 2020 and it's so fun. I also get that social interaction that I missed thorugh quarantine. [1]Social interaction is important and has a lot of benefits such as an improved mental health because you are getting what you need from another person. Another thing about me is I am the youngest by 12 and 14 years. I have two older sisters so sometimes I feel like an only child, sometimes I don't. It really depends on the day!
My Wikipedia Interests
[edit]If I am active on Wikipedia in the future I will probably use the platform to find some insightful facts if I can and if needed for something like an assignment that I need to gather facts and evidence.
Article Evaluation
[edit]As I was playing around with different articles and doing my research, I realized that personally I do my best work at night. It's my favorite time of the 24 hour day because I feel like my brain works best in it’s creative mindset. I was hoping that Wikipedia had an informative article on nighttime, with that in consideration, I visited the Night page on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: its lack of reliable sources, its dead link, and it's irrelevant sections and sentences.
Citations
[edit]Not every fact listed in this article was followed by a reliable source. Some facts even still needed a citation. Roughly about two facts to be exact. Since it’s a broader topic, there’s lots of terms to define which means there are plenty of links to dictionary cites. There aren’t many citations to outside sources, maybe it’s because there aren’t many facts in general. Not the best but it makes sense for the article itself.
Dead Links
[edit]Out of all the seven links, one was dead which isn't terrible. It was the last link in one of irrelevant sections that I will talk about in the next aspect. There are a lot of terms, as I explained earlier, in this article such as morning and evening to more specific terms like gegenschein and bioluminescence. All of which have wiki links attached to them.
Irrelevance
[edit]There weren’t many irrelevant sections however, there were two sections that might’ve not been as important. These were “On other celestial bodies” and “Cultural Aspects.” They weren’t bad sections but they definitely were not too important to the general topic of “Night.” The section “On other celestial bodies” was an interesting filler but it wasn’t a key section to include, and same with the section “Cultural Aspects.”
Summary
[edit]Overall I think this article is pretty well written. It could’ve included more facts and corresponding citations that were all real links to lively cites. The section titled “On other celestial bodies” could’ve been excluded but it didn’t ruin the whole article.
