It was a Queensland Government department responsible for housing policy and services.
The department was part of the Minister for Public Works and Minister for Housing portfolio from 29 June 1998 to 12 February 2004 and part of the Minister for Public Works, Housing and Racing portfolio from 12 February 2004 to 26 March 2009. On 26 March 2009, under Administrative Arrangements Order (No. 1) 2009, the Department of Housing was abolished and its functions transferred to the Department of Communities.
History

[edit]On 29 Jun 1998 under Administrative Arrangements Order (No. 1) 1998 and Public Service Departmental Arrangements Notice (No. 3) 1998, the Department of Housing was established as a single entity replacing the Department of Public Works and Housing. It remained as a single entity until 26 March 2009 when, under the Administrative Arrangements Order (No. 1) 2009, it was merged with the Department of Communities.[1]

[edit]The department was part of the Minister for Public Works and Minister for Housing portfolio from 29 June 1998 to 12 February 2004 and part of the Minister for Public Works, Housing and Racing portfolio from 12 February 2004 to 26 March 2009.[1]
Abolition
[edit]On 26 March 2009, under Administrative Arrangements Order (No. 1) 2009, the Department of Housing was abolished and its functions transferred to the Department of Communities.[1]
