INDIAN SOCIETY

Indian society,Today is riddled with many problems.

India has raised brave girls in past but today women are repressed .Indian society mostly

patriarchial in character ,women are perceived as inferior to men. They are expected to stay

at homeand take care of household chores even if working are expected to be dutiful

caregivers to entire family

Lot of other problems are dragging our progress,as well.

Concentration of resources in hands of few,overcrowding in urban areas,drugs,school

dropouts,lower life expectancy,environmental issues,child delinquency,slow GDP,High Debt

Inequitable distribution of resources

Political Apathy

Rapid population increase with collapsing infrastructure . Infrastructure requiring

Revamping to suit needs of the younger population.

Most of younger affluent population is falling prey to eat out syndrome,hooking on to white

starchy food ,the impact of which is not going to be any less serious than impact of drugs on

health .Reminds one of Opuim war between china and Foreign invaders.

Conservatism for girls and women in families is common. Most women, even nowadays, are forced into marrying a husband that their family chooses. The mindset is still deeply embedded in Indian mentality

I quote -United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women). For the first time, femicide is seen as a crime in itself, and governments ought to “end impunity by ensuring accountability and the punishment of perpetrators of such crimes and reparation for the victims”.

The CSW resolution arrived after the gang rape and subsequent death of a 23 year-old

student on a New Delhi bus.The capital city such public outcry and protests that were

uncontrollable Time for stronger women to emerge aided with global support !!! Reforms in economy are much needed and NEP 2020 has brought a welcome relief barring few inclusions. Optimistically yours …anupama.
