Luggage Forward is a door to door luggage delivery service company headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts.
History
[edit]The company was founded in 2004 to provide nascent alternative luxury travel service options involving door to door luggage and sporting equipment delivery. These services were increasingly in demand from growing dissatisfaction with reliability standards of airline baggage services. Numerous instances such as lost bags, damaged bags, and consumer reaction to excess fees established by major airlines to allow luxury travelers large numbers of bags, sporting equipment, or unorthodox items perpetuated these options' availability. Luggage Forward's services are also available for delivery to and from major cruise lines.
In 2009, a long term consolidation project commenced that resulted in the acquisition of industry related brands Sports Express, Luggage Express, Baggage Quest, Luggage Advance, and Virtual Bellhop.[1]
Shipping and Travel Partnerships
[edit]Partnerships with a global network of major shippers (UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.) and a variety of smaller regional shipping companies, both national and international, were subsequently implemented to satisfy and continue growing interest in the medium. The company has also created a variety of partnerships with travel companies such as AAA that desired to offer the services to their clientele.
