PYRO released his first project, Reflection (2017), independently and two years later released his debut album, 1001, in 2019. He then signed with Radius Records to release his second studio album, with the singles "New Age" and "Generation Z" getting notable attention and making it into Spotify editorial playlists. In 2021, PYRO released 3003, quickly followed by three, hour-long mixtapes. In 2022, PYRO released DOWN NIGHTS, an eight track album that has a unique style to his previous projects.[3]

Career

[edit]

2017 - 2019: Reflection and 1001

[edit]

In 2017, PYRO released his first project, Reflection. The 5 track EP was full of EDM tracks and was well received by PYRO's small fanbase. The songs "Galaxy" and "Deep Rhythm" stood out to listeners and were played on various internet radio shows.[4] A small distribution company quickly made a deal with PYRO and physical copies of the album were sold due to the success of the project. During 2018, PYRO worked on various projects, such as helping to produce Dhruv Chadda's EP Orbital Bodies.[5]

2 years after the release of Reflection, PYRO then released two singles "Imagine" and "Day Dream" and quickly followed up with his debut album "1001". The album received mixed reviews, however "Day Dream" quickly became a fan favourite and attracted the attention of various record labels. The album did not do well initially on streaming platforms but has since spread across social media and had a resurgence due to the newfound exposure. PYRO released a remix of "Day Dream" a year later in his second studio album, "2002".

2020: 2002 and Radius Records

In January of 2020, PYRO was approached by Radius Records in the interest of signing him after an A&R heard his album on an internet radio. Although sceptical, PYRO decided to sign with the Label for his second studio album. On the 19th of February, PYRO announced his second studio album, 2002, showing a preview of the first single from the album.[6] On the 6th of March, PYRO released his first single from his second album "New Age". The track was very well received by fans, making it into Spotify editorial playlists and receiving thousands of streams.[7] He followed this up 2 weeks later with "Generation Z", which received a similar response. Two days later, PYRO then released his highly anticipated second studio album, 2002. The album was successful, leading to PYRO opening a website with a merchandise store to boost his brand.[8] In May of that year, during the second UK Covid-19 lockdown PYRO played virtual shows to fans,Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page). with the set list being a mix of tracks from the album and some of his earlier work.

PYRO went on to released two singles that year. He released "Headlights" independently a few months after his album released in hopes on continuing the success. The song was unique to what PYRO had released before going for a more acoustic sounds over electronic. Although it did do well, it did not live up to standards of his previous album. He also worked with two local rappers that year, moving to hip hop to work with RBX on "Aba Da Udo" which was well recived by their fans and RBX released a music video for the track soon after.[9] PYRO also produced for DP, working on a song for the deluxe version of his album "Wayy Past Epic!"[10] however the deluxe version of the album was taken down a few months after.

2021 - 2022: 3003, N.O.I.S.E Mixtapes and DOWN NIGHTS

[edit]

On New Year’s Day on 2021, PYRO released Forever, another experimental track that differs from his other tracks. He also released his third studio album 3003, which was a mix of hip-hop, alternative and electronic music. Then on 20th of January of that year PYRO dropped fifty-six tracks over three mixtapes titled N.O.I.S.E. Vol. 1, 2 and 3. The tracks, mostly hip-hop instrumentals and although they had little commercial success, demonstrated his versatility across genres. PYRO later released another single "Nowhere" in September of that year.

In late 2021, PYRO signed with INX Music Group and released "Paradise", the first single from his fourth studio album. On the 27th of December PYRO finally announced the album "DOWN NIGHTS"[3] and released the second single from the album "Going Dark" a few days later. On New Year’s Day of 2022, PYRO released "DOWN NIGHTS", an 8-track album that is unique to his other projects. "It is a mix of calm Lo-Fi and electronic with each track blended together".[3]
