Early Chinese versions
[edit]Another version of the story, Ye Xian, (sometimes written Yeh-Shen or Yeh-Hsien) appeared in Miscellaneous Morsels from Youyang by Tuan Ch'eng-Shih around A.D. 860. The author writes that the tale comes form the cave-dwelling people of Yung-Chou, modern Nanning, in the days before the Chinese came.
Ye Xian, an intelligent girl, befriends a fish, She saves the bones, which are magic, and they help her dress appropriately for a festival. When she loses her slipper after a fast exit, the king finds her and falls in love with her. Year of the Fish

Why are these stories so important to societies . . . and to the individual? Bettelheim, in The Uses of Enchantment says, “. . . more can be learned from them about the inner problems of human beings, and of the right solutions to their predicaments in any society, than from any other type of story within a child’s comprehension.” He quotes Schiller, the German poet: “Deeper meaning resides in the fairy tales told to me in my childhood than in the truth that is taught by life.”

deleted Qi Global article (from Google cache)
[edit]Qi GLOBAL is a social enterprise based in Singapore using events, media and retail to achieve the mantra 'Human Progress in Harmony with Nature'[1][2]. Qi inspires people to live and act more progressively by asking this question - How would nature do it? Through inspiring speakers, people who are talking the talk and walking the walk, Qi showcases progressive solutions that can spark accountability in people’s lives.
Why make decisions on a daily basis that increase one’s carbon footprint when with a little thought and considerate action, we can all make less impact upon the planet? That is precisely what Qi is all about, common sense solutions for various aspects of your everyday life[3].
The Qi website will see weekly additions of content containing online footage of inspiring speakers and design, a forum for debate that is both entertaining and invigorating.[2]
Qi GLOBAL 2010 6 to 9 October in Singapore:
Qi GLOBAL 2009 was a fantastic success and Qi GLOBAL 2010 is going to be even better. Qi have not so much as raised the bar but fired it into orbit. The speakers and their work will define the world we live in. Thanks to the wonders of technology, Qi GLOBAL 2010 will be streamed live (and free) on the internet with speakers answering your questions from all around the world.

This will be a massive three day & four night culmination of events in October with Global thought leaders speaking, workshops, exhibitions, film screenings, an eco-Luxe fashion show, regionally sourced food and a concert. Qi events are designed to make the visitor feel the void between the way that they are living their life and the easy steps to a less carbon heavy lifestyle.

Sky and atmosphere
[edit]The distinction is between what we really see and what science teaches us. "when I say "sky" I mean the expanse itself which is up from my point of view on the earth." [1]
