[edit]A. Shipena Secondary School was founded in 1985. A shipena is a school in Windhoek, Namibia, in the Khomas region. Its a government school, it started with a maximum of 430 learners and a maximum of 16 teachers.
From the time it opened its doors, A. Shipena went through alot of obstacles. Atfer a year from opening its doors, it was hint by a bomb that destroyed the whole or part of the administration block. What was ironic was that the day the bomb hinted the school on October 16, 1986, it was the day when the school was helding its prize giving ceremony to reward learners who did well academically and in sport. The event had to be cancelled.A Shipena Secondary School(n.d).
In February 1987 the school recieved its first computer. This was bought by a radio programme that demanded schools to make bids. A. Shipena made the greatest bid of N$1900,00 and the price of the computer was N$35000,00.A Shipena Secondary School(n.d).
