Composition
[edit]"Rosas" is a torch pop song.[19] It was written by Xabi San Martín, the keyboardist of La Oreja de Van Gogh alongside his band partners.[20] The lyrics narrate how the singer sees her first love with another woman as she remembers the moments they lived during their six-month relationship. At the same time, she narrates how every Friday she expects him to bring her roses while she waits in a place they frequented.[19] When asked about the verse
Y es que empiezo a pensar que el amor verdadero es tan sólo el primero / y es que empiezo a sospechar que los demás son sólo para olvidar
"And I begin to think true love is only the first one / And I begin to suspect the other ones are just to forget"
band members said that in perspective life looks different at age 20 than it does at age 45, although first love has an air of freshness to it that others do not have.[21]
The poethic forte from the lyrics can be seen in several lines such as :
"Escapando una noche de un bostezo de sol, me pediste que te diera un beso / Con lo baratos que salen mi amor, ¿Qué te cuesta callarme con uno de esos?
"Escaping one night from a sun's yawn, you asked me to give you a kiss / so cheap they cost, my love ¿Why don't you shut me up asking me for those? [reffering to the kisses]
Poethically tranalating the verses mean : "running away one night from a boring day[A] you asked me to give you a kiss, they are so easily to get the from me[a] and yet you are going to continue let me speak without giving me one"[b]
