EastEnders is a British soap opera, examining the domestic and professional lives of working-class people who live in the fictitious London Borough of Walford in the East End of London. The show airs on BBC One and entered its 17th broadcasted year on 1 January 2001 with its 2052nd episode, with John Yorke continuing his role as executive producer for his first full year in the running. EastEnders aired 179 episodes in 2001, with the typical week comprising three half-hour episodes on BBC One, in a time slot of 7.30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 8.00 pm on Mondays, until 10 August 2001 when a Friday episode was added, also shown at 8.00 pm.

List of episodes
[edit]During 2001, EastEnders aired four half-hour episodes in a time slot of 8.00 pm on Mondays, 7.30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Until 10 August 2001 when a Friday episode was added, also shown at 8.00 pm.[1] The episodes were broadcast on BBC One. A weekly omnibus edition was also broadcast on Sundays. John Yorke continued his role as executive producer.
Official ratings are taken from the Broadcasters' Audience Research Board (BARB)[2] and airdates are taken from BBC Genome.[3]
