90377 Sedna

NASA-funded researchers have discovered the most distant object orbiting the sun. It's a mysterious planet-like body three times farther from Earth than Pluto. ... It is estimated Sedna is approximately three- fourths the size of Pluto.Mar 15, 2004 90377 Sedna, or just Sedna, is a dwarf planet, or a large plantoid, astronomers are not sure of which. Sedna is located very very far away from earth, it is one of the farthest plantoids from earth. Sedna is about 3 times farther away from the sun than Nepptune is. It is the reddest object among the entire solar system. Sedna has one of the most longest orbit periods in the solar system, taking approximitly 11,400 years to complete just one rotation. Sedna has no moons, even though it is one of the largest plantoids. It was discovered on November 14th 2003. When first discovered it was very thought to have an un-usually long rotatinal period. Sedna is a lot farther from the Sun as Pluto is. Sedna will cone to perihelion, probably around July in 2076, so very long from now. Although Sedna is very well listed on NASA's solar system exploration website, NASA isn't known to be considering any type of mission currently. NASA-funded reserchers discovered this distant object orbiting the sun. It has been estimated Sedna is about three- fourths the size of Pluto. Unlike the planets in the inner Solar System, Sedna only experiences very few surface impacts from stuff like metetors, and other stray objects. In terms of colour, Sedna is almost as red as Mars is, some astronomers believe that this colour is caused by hydrocarbon, or tholin. Sedna is called a dwarf planet because, it is bright enough, and therefore, large enough. This is expected to be the case.
