Article: Meditations on First Philosophy
I didn’t read the whole meditations of Rene Descartes. Instead I chose to focus on Meditations One. I am taking an introductory course on philosophy and we were assigned to read both Meditations One and Two from Descartes. I found the epistemic topic to be extremely interesting and thought of adding content to the Wikipedia page.
I found that the existing article had some minor holes in the summary of Meditations One. One problem I found with the current article is the convention of using “the Meditator” instead of Descartes real name. That was just a small pet peeve however, the rest of the article was sound and had reputable sources.
I approached the edits keeping in mind the small holes in the story that the previous authors left out. I paraphrased the text from my Oxford University Press textbook “Introduction to Philosophy”. I entered content relative to Meditation One specifically, mentioning Descartes skeptical method and his thoughts before retiring to sleep for the night.
