Princess Omo Okieme Known for her quick-witted and disarming persona, second-generation Nigerian American, Omo Okieme was born in the South Bronx. Raised in the Norwood section, where she embraced her neighborhood's Hispanic culture. Referring to herself as a Nigerian Latin Bronxinite. Upon receiving her Business Degree from Fordham University and Masters in Clinical Social Work and Policy from New York University, Omo began a career in Acting. First enrolling herself in theatre courses at Brookdale Community College. She then served as an intern at The Actors Studio, landing her two Off-Broadway shows, I loved You In Heaven and SNAPS. After watching the Film, "Stella Dallas", Omo fell in love with Barbara Stanwyck and knew for sure she wanted to become an actress playing strong female roles like Ms. Stanwyck. Omo states " I want my acting to make others feel what Stanwyck's acting made me feel; a warm, therapeutic and healing experience". Omo claims each time she watched a Stanwyck movie, a feeling of hope would overcome her, propelling her to fight through adversity that at times, seemed impossible to overcome. "Through my craft, like Stanwyck, I too want to make others feel the way she makes me feel". Omo Okieme is an intellectually and socially inclined individual making her able to work with some of the most talented directors and writers in the business. Naturally gravitating towards perplexing characters, she is very selective in who she works with and the projects she commits to. Princess states, "I would like to one day work with some of the greatest directors of our time". To name a few: Antoine Fuqua, the Coen Brothers, F. Gary Gary, John Singleton, Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, Spike Lee, and Tim Story. As an NYU Alum, Omo Okieme enjoys serving as NYU's President/Club Leader for the NYU Alumni Club for the Greenwich, Connecticut Chapter. Promoting NYU's mission, while fostering relations between NYU and the Greenwich Alumni community. Aside from acting, Omo is also driven by social activism. Collaborating with various Ambassadors to the United Nations and NGOs to organize the Eighth Annual Youth Assembly. As well as, assisting Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney in the Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization, which helped to pass the Campus Save Act. Ms. Okieme desires to one day serve as a United States Ambassador for Humanitarian Efforts Abroad.
