A bit about me? Well, let me see...
Well, that's the short version. That's basically me, in a nutshell. The longer version would go a little like this...
My name is Amy Jane Benton; a short name, but at least it's easy to remember. I was born on New Years Day of 1991 in England; yes, my birthday is 1st January. I did move to Wales when I was sixteen, but now I live in a small town on the east coast of England.
I am in a relationship; I have been with my boyfriend, Benjamin, since 8th February 2013 and I'm very proud to say that we're still going strong. Together, my partner and I have three babies. No, not 'baby-babies', but what some people deem as 'fur babies'. We have two doggies; Pepsi and Buttons, both girls, both Yorkshire terrors *ah hem* terriers, both have the ability to make me want to pull my hair out (I do love them though)… and a titchy little Syrian hamster named Badger.
I have naturally brown hair, which was coloured a, sort of, purple-red, but it's back to normal now, and my eyes are a pretty shade of hazel. I stand at the height of five feet and two inches, which has granted me the nickname of ‘little legs’ from more than one person.
I love all genres of music; music is one of my favourite things. The artists I adore right now are Green Day, All Time Low and McFly.
Even though my favourite genre of movies is horror (Saw and A Nightmare on Elm Street are at the top of my list), I am a massive Disney fan... Even though I have never visited Disneyland, which is somewhere I am determined to go! I'm also *slightly* obsessed with Harry Potter; mainly the books, but I do adore the films too.
I also like the television show, Spartacus... My two favourite characters are Gannicus and Mira.
I'm also an avid collector of Build-a-Bears, and love adding to my ever-growing-collection as regularly as I possibly can!
I studied BTEC Level 1 Animal Care at college, which I passed, before moving onto BTEC Level 2 Creative Media in 2012, where I graduated with an overall DISTINCTION*, which I am very proud of, and I was nominated for my course's 'Student of the Year' award too. I continued with my media studies once my level 2 course came to an end, and opted for BTEC Level 3 Creative Writing and Journalism when asked to select the media sector I wanted to gear my interests towards. During the first year of this course, I managed to obtain an overall DISTINCTION* DISTINCTION* (D*D*), as well as being nominated for the 'Principal's Award for Excellence in Media', and working hard as a learner representative for my course throughout the academic year.
I have been writing stories and poems since I was around six years of age. I've always loved the idea of being able to create characters and worlds, but I was always apprehensive about somebody reading my work. After all, I'd spent a lot of time writing and working hard on my creations, what if somebody didn't like them? However, I'm glad to say that I'm more relaxed about my work having an audience now, on the contrary, hearing feedback about my writing is quite rewarding, especially when it's positive!
Obviously, I love writing. My favourite author is J.K. Rowling and I’m sure you can guess what my favourite book series is… I also like photography, as well as art and design. I have already self-published a book that I have co-written with my best friend; Mysterious Elements is on Amazon as a paperback and an eBook.
