Guarapo (drink)

Guarapo is the name of a type of beverage made from sugarcane or raw honey, infused with dry fruits, that varies from region to region. It is slightly alcoholic, and delightfully refreshing.

History Beer companies have historically been the power to enforce prohibition of this type of alcoholic beverage. They have argued that the production practices are not hygienic enough, that the products are supposedly toxic. Now, the norm is that peasants (people) do not produce or commercialise their own. They instead are passive consumers, who no longer co-create with the world around them.
