Amr Helmy, born 1959, Cairo, Egypt, A Designer and Writer. He launched his Company Amr Helmy Designs in 1981 to be the leading bespoke Kitchen company in the Middle East. Early in his Career he designed his first Hybrid kitchen (kitchen that comes from Architectural Origin), “the Nubian Kitchen” a Kitchen that resembles the Nubian architecture where the kitchen was built with bricks, domes and vaults, a technique not used in that kind of furniture. This made Rizzoli mention the kitchen and publish a book called “Nationalism and Globalism in Design” .
