Club career
Lion City Saliors
Veitch attended a trial at Singapore Premier League club Lion City Sailors after his graduation from secondary school. He was enrolled into their academy and was quickly promoted to their first team after impressing in a couple of months. He quickly became a regular starter for the club as they advanced to the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League, where they lost to Al-Ittihad FC. He won the league once with the club before leaving for two years to serve Singapore's mandatory National Service.
Crystal Palace
Prior to completing his national service, Veitch had accepted a £4.4 million offer from Crystal Palace, which would see him make the move after his 2-year army service. He put pen-to-paper to a 5-year deal with the London club, and became the most expensive player ever to sign from the Singapore Premier League.
Personal life
Veitch is currently studying at Imperial College London, and has mentioned its influence over his move to Crystal Palace. In an interview, he said "I was very happy to sign with Palace because it would make it more convenient to facilitate my university studies. I had been offered a spot at Imperial after I completed my army training and decided to accept it to aid my future endeavours after football." He mentioned how the money earnt at the club would also help pay off the student fees he would accumulate. He has stated that "Most people hate to admit it as they are worried of upsetting fans, but most people play football for the money. I play football because i enjoy the sport, but the money definitely affect my reasons too. I enrolled in university to ensure I will be able to survive after football with a good career, rather than fall into poverty or bankruptcy after retirement." These comments have since been met with support from the public.
Veitch has a YouTube channel where he posts gaming videos and electric guitar covers. He is also a massive fan of Anime and admits to binging on them in his free time.
Veitch is multilingual, and is fluent in English, Mandarin, Japanese, and French
