Aminu Lawal Tsafe was born on June 3, 1986, in Tsafe, Zamfara State, Nigeria. He completed his primary education at Aliakilu Model Primary School in Tsafe and his secondary education at Government Science Secondary School in Gombe. He continued his studies at Zamfara College of Arts and Sciences, followed by a Diploma in Crime Management from Bayero University Kano. Tsafe graduated with a degree in Geography from the University of Maiduguri in 2014, achieving a Second Class Upper division.

His public service career began with his role as a board member of the Zamfara State Hajj Commission. He subsequently served as the Secretary for Tsafe and Bukkuyum Local Governments. He later became the Sole Administrator for Tsafe Local Government, where he focused on youth development and administrative improvements.

Tsafe is married to Hajiya Nafisat, and they have a daughter named Fatima (Bintu), born on April 9, 2014, who is affectionately called Maamah.
