Appearance
A product or service (eg. iCloud, Sony NW-A810) is considered notable if it has been the subject of significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject.
What to look for
[edit]A product or service is presumed to be notable if it has been the subject of significant coverage in reliable sources or if it meets one of the following criteria
- Is significantly and purposefully mentioned in at least 2 reliable published works (not directories)
- Has a unique or rare feature that can be verified by a reliable source.
- Is historically significant (eg. oldest soft drink brand in Europe, first toothpaste to use fluoride, First commercial internet service provider)
Note that a specific product or service may be notable on its own, without the company providing it being notable in its own right.
What not to do
[edit]Wikipedia is not a directory. Avoid mass creation of multiple product stubs. If found to be non-notable they will either be merged into and article of broader scope or deleted.
