Harrison Smith (online pseudonym Ambiveillance) is a University of Toronto PhD student at the Faculty of Information. His primary research concerns geo-locative social media, and draws upon sociological theories of surveillance, consumer culture, actor-network theory, political economy, and urban geography. His thesis examines the emergence of mobile dating platforms for ubiquitous digital media devices such as smartphones.
