Christopher Emerling
[edit]I have a school "project" called LANGO for my Advanced Placement Language and Composition. Basically you pick what you want to do out of a variety of different options. One of the options was the edit a wikipedia page, but I took it a step higher and decided to CREATE a Wikipedia page about my teacher.
Christopher Emerling, the most bestest and handsomest teacher at North Augusta High School, or so he will tell you, started teaching English at NAHS in 2001. He taught English I CP1 and 2, English III CP1, 2, and Honors. Now he teaches AP Language and Composition, AP Seminar, Ap Research, AP Prep Lab, and ACVA English IV. He also coached volleyball for 7 years and advised the school newspaper for 10 years. He is currently the assistant athletic director. Buffalo, NY is my home; He attended SUNY Geneseo in New York where he graduated with a BA in English. He has a wife, whom he calls wiffey who teaches at HHE, and two kids, Foster(11) and a Zoe(7) . According to his website they all live in a fortified compound in Aiken surrounded by sharks with laser beams and that we should not try to visit.
Mr. Emerling believes that giving us, the students, freedom is a good thing. One of the ways that he gives his students freedom is allowing us to choose on your own behalf, such as with LANGO. While there are certain things that we must do, certain choices that must be limited, he attempts to be as flexible as possible when it comes to assignments and assessments and allow for students to choose their own paths of inquiry.
His classroom is an experiment. It has surround sound, multiple smart boards, and wobble chairs(if you want one). The wobble chairs are my favorite. His class makes me feel comfortable and like I can be myself. I also feel welcome in the classroom, it is a nice end to my day at school. He is also a Buffalo Bills fan.
This is his teacher webpage if you would like to visit:
