User:Alvestrand/Unreferenced BLPs

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In 2009, the Category:Unreferenced BLPs had grown very large, and is being worked on very slowly. It was also a real problem for the WP:BLP policy, which some interpret as a requirement to delete everything that doesn't have a 'references' section - something I think of as ovezealous.

The community got behind this one, and as of October 2011, there are only 140 of the tens of thousands left - basically, this is now a solved problem. Hooray!

Hit list

[edit]

These are articles where I found reason to delete the {{BLPunsourced}} tag. Some are still of questionable notability, a lot are in "refimprove" state, but they are definitely not wholly unsourced any more.

These days, I get new candidates for the list through the big red button on Wikipedia:WikiProject Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons.
